Kennedy and White have been officially in existence for only a few months and already we have provided soundtracks for Crazy D Lane and Invasion of the Not Quite Dead and Kate Griffith's astounding Rockabilly with blood letting feature, Perfect 12. It has just occurred to us that we do not know of any other Film Composers that work as a duo. Time for a opinion piece then!

There was a discussion recently on a Facebook film makers site about Royalty Free Music and so I waded in with my opinion. As you would expect from someone who has set up a Sound Tracking service for low budget projects, I do not believe that Royalty Free Music is serving film makers. In fact, the very reason we started composing music for projects was because we were sick of badly cued and poorly edited music being used for trailers and films. Time for an article!

Good soundtracking should be affordable to every film maker that has had the courage to release their work and allow the public to glimpse their soul. It is essential that a film has music that frames it perfectly otherwise it is surplus to requirements. But worse, bad soundtracking can undermine and destroy any atmosphere that the film maker has laboured to produce. Whether it is a short film or a full length feature the responsibility carried by a projects Composer is essential if a film is to resonate with its audience.
